Les Mystères de Fès s.a.r.l. - Maroc

Palais Quaraouiyne is a rug dealer in Fez. We toured Morocco through Abercrombie & Kent for our Honeymoon. We wanted to buy a rug as a keepsake. Our guide took us to Palais Quaraouiyine (also known as Les Mysteres de Fez). It was supposedly a reputable rug dealer. We purchased a rug for over $3000. I signed the back of the rug so that I could identify it when it arrived. We ended up receiving an entirely different rug (unsigned) along with a documented value of $300. I contacted the store and supplied my receipt. The owner said I must be mistaken and that my memory must be poor. They would not accept a return/refund. Please do not get caught in this SCAM.

Buyer beware!!! We visted Fez on our Honeymoon through Abercrombie and Kent. We wanted to buy a Moroccan rug as a memory of our trip. We were taken to Mysteres de Fez by our guide. We were told it was a reputable store. We purchased a vintage rug for over $3000. I signed the back of the rug so that I could identify it when I received it in the States. We received a rug that did not have my signature and had a declared value of $320. We immediately knew it was not the rug. I contacted the Mysteres de Fes via email. I sent my receipt and the receipt on the Fed Ex. I told them that I would send back the rug and wanted either the rug I signed or a refund. They said that it was too late for a refund. The store operates a well orchestrated SCAM.
